Comic book storage/display?
I have been moving every few months for the last 5 years, and my comics have been stored in boxes. Now that I'm at least semi-permanently settled I want to know how I should store/display them. I have them in a filing cabinet right now. It keeps them safe and off the ground but I wish it was easier to just grab one without going through every single one and pulling out the whole drawer, or to maybe be able to see them or just generally have easier access to them. If I had all the space in the world, I'd put them on shelves like in a comic store but we all know that's not gonna happen. I have 308 of them by the way. Maybe you have some more creative or elegant solutions than overpriced cardboard boxes.
This is hard since I can't find the original bin I use but I'll describe my method.
I too move around, about every 6 months so I found clear plastic bins kinda like this: http://www.amazon.com/GSC-211512-Flip-Clear-Black/dp/B000Q187VW/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1277957898&sr=1-13 . But, the ones I got were shallower, completely rectangular (so no trapezoidy shapes). So, I put in my comics in the order I keep them in with the spines facing towards the sky. Pop the lid on and they go where ever you go, all safe.
Now, you arrive at your new place, pop the lid off and turn the bin on it's side and stack each bin upward. That way, it becomes a makeshift bookself without you having to take them in and out of boxes or the file cabinet. Because it's completely rectangular, you don't have to worry about them falling over either.
Now guests and friends can see the comics.

You can buy coated wire shelves like this: http://www.amazon.com/Rubbermaid-5E21-FastTrack-16-Inch-Shelf/dp/B0009J5NXQ (They come in cheaper prices and a whole plate of sizes). And position them where ever there's room. Or you can do it dorm style and put them almost at the ceiling like here: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/uimages/la/082008_highshelf.jpg so it doesn't get in the way. Think about it, are you really using the 1 foot of space before the ceiling starts?
Either way, you'll end up doing the comic book store spread with one book halfway on top of the other book.
