Where can i get white walnut or something similar in color?
I am in the process of building a jewelry box for my girlfriend out of walnut. I have finished paring out the dovetails and I will soon be starting to dado or rabbet the for the bottom and using simple 1/4in plywood for the bottom since it's going to be finished off with felt on the bottom anyway. The walnut lumber i am using has a white stripe along the top and i would like for it to continue to the actual box top. Can I get just white walnut or is there a wood that is of similar color? maple is too white, i'm finishing a piece of red oak as a test to see if it is similar. I am finishing the box with a simple tung oil finish.
Any help will be appreciated
p.s. all i have is hand tools cuz they are cheaper to use 
so nothing involving expensive power tools please
