Start Of the Special Jewellery Style - Pilgrim
In 1983, in Skanderborg, Denmark Thomas Adamsen and Annemette Markvad, who were husband and wife, opened a trade company of Pilgrim. Both of them get started by reselling the jewely articles they had combined from different festivals, which they had visited when they were on their journeys of East. Ultimately, then small time industrialists and businessmen started crafting their own pilgrim jewellery designs.
The initiative of this business was taken when a strange man in Aarhus requested Adamsen to look out his little jewelry booth for only some hours. He noted that the jewelry sold quite easily giving a good profit – girls and guys loved it and he really enjoyed selling it to the people.
Thomas and Annemette, who lived in a two-storey apartment started to design, the jewelry in their house. They used to craft it and pack to sale to the buyers.
The couple in no time started to display and sell their Pilgrim jewelry in quite a lot of trade fairs and festivals. They also exhibit it in some of the rock concerts around their country.
After doing the hard work the couple began to get steady success in their business. Their first success in their business was jewelry articles, which were quite similar to the black chains. Famous music artists’ used to wear these chains. After passing each day their jewelry business got more and more success, and it was not possible to continue their production in a small apartment with only two persons handling all the work. Therefore, they decided to move their production in a big old house. They also made the decision to include some of their Family members and friends to fulfill the increasing demand of the buyers.
Finally, in the year 1999 Pilgrim became a design company. After having a good start with enormous popularity it then became a limited company in 2002.
