Choosing the perfect earrings
Earrings are a great way to personalize your style and complete an outfit. With so many styles out there, it can be difficult to choose the right earrings to enhance your appearance, but with some beauty knowledge you will be able to find the right earrings for you.
Step 1 Look for earrings that compliment the shape of your face. Select proper earrings for a round face. Round faces have almost the same width as length and need earrings to provide length, such as long, dangling or rectangular-shaped earrings.
Step 2 Balance a heart-shaped face. Heart-shaped faces tend to have a wide forehead and cheeks which narrows to a point at the chin. This face shape is complimented by adding width at the jaw line with triangular-shaped or chandelier style earrings.
Step 3 Pick anything for an oval face. People with oval-shaped faces are lucky because their faces are very proportionate and they can wear most any style of earrings to enhance their appearance.
Step 4 Rectangular-shaped faces have more length than width and need earrings that do not emphasise length. Small studs work well and long dangling earrings should be avoided.
Step 5 Wear what makes you feel good. This is the most important factor to take into account when you're choosing earrings to enhance your appearance, because if you don't feel good in what you're wearing then you won't look your best.
Step 6 Choose earrings that compliment your size. Petite women need earrings that bring the viewer's eye up. If you're petite and like dangling earrings pay attention to the space between the ears and shoulder. Longer earrings will block that space and give the appearance of a shorter neck line. Ladies of average height (5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 7 inches) are not restricted by height. They can wear any style of earrings that also flatters their face shape. Women who are tall (over 5 feet 7inches) need to pay attention to the space between their ears and shoulder. They need earrings that don't get lost in that space such as long, dangling styles.
Step 7 Decide what you want the jewelry focal point to be. If you want to bring attention to the necklace you're wearing then keep earrings simple so they don't draw attention away from your neckline.
