Bob Hope 14th Annual Desert Classic Golf Tnmt. 1973 Whiskey Bottle Sealed - value?
I have a 4/5 quart bottle of Kentucky straight 86 proof bourbon whiskey from Bob Hope's 14th Annual Desert Classic Golf tournament in 1973. The bottle is genuine with a sticker saying it's handcrafted from authentic regal china. It has a cartoon image of Bob's face with a golf club.
The bottle is sealed and it says the whiskey was 100 months old in 1973, meaning it's quite a bit older now. There is also a fancy velvet interior box that comes with it.
Would anyone know an approximate value for this item?
My guess is the bottle is worth more than the booze. I had a bottle my folks got in 1937 of Hiram Walker and did some research then. No info or interest. We ended up drinking it New Year 2000. It tasted heavenly, much to our surprise. Would have thought it would have gone bad.
